Motivation: something that motivates; inducement; incentive......so what is it? or where is it? why has it disappeared? Or why can't it be found?
So, how do we find the
ultimate motivation; that one thing that ensures you make a real and permanent change? Does it literally take hitting that rock-bottom point...or are we able to find the motivation within ourselves when the change is most needed? Is it a person in our life that makes us feel the need to be better, to somehow become a better version of ourselves?
So my question right now is:
What is the ultimate motivation; that one thing that makes us change?
The reason this question has popped up is because of a few circumstances which just happened to occur simultaneously.
- First of all, I have had a lot of things on my mind. Mostly things that pertain to myself and specific ways in which I have been acting (or not acting). And then there's school and the lovely stress Graduate School causes everybody. Also the fact that motivation has appeared to disappear since I ran the Gate River Run (I was on such a high before the race; and I've lost some of my momentum).
- Secondly, there have been a few conversations with people which have irked me a bit. Basically because they fell in line with certain thoughts I had already been having, and the conversations seemed to make the thinking process a little more in-depth and intense (which is probably why I lost some of my momentum and motivation in running and school).
- And lastly, there seems to be a lot of disorganization with me right now (which is not typical) and I am unsure why I feel like something is disorganized or what it is that is disorganized.
So currently I do not know that solution, or at least not the total solution. There are bits and pieces I have figured out, but not everything as a whole and it is causing unnecessary stress.
I plan to work on the solution and add it later.....hopefully.
But for now, I have a 5K to run in the morning!! 😊
