Wash Day
There was breakfast with the group this morning then a business meeting of the Florida Mid Lows. With all persons attending it was a formal meeting and they covered lots of topics. I put my $10 in to join the group so I know when the meetings are in the winter so I can join them whenever possible. This is a lively bunch and fun to be with.
After breakfast Kat asked me what I was going to do for the rest of the morning and since I didn’t have anything planned she asked if I wanted to do wash. Well it so happened that I did have a big bag full so we loaded our stuff in the car and went across the street to the Laundromat. We each took 2 washers, got them started and went to the Dollar Store right next door. I got a raw hide bone and a tennis ball for Oscar, paper towels and a can opener (left mine at home).
By that time the clothes needed transferring to the dryer so after that was done I went outside to wait. Across the parking lot I could here
this young girl selling Girl Scout cookies and who was I to not promote the cause. So off I went and came back with 2 boxes, one thin mint, of course, and one short bread with low sugar. I talked to them for several minutes, saying how great it was that they were in scouting.
The clothes were done, we packed up and on the way home drove through another camp ground to see what that one looked like. OK but really close together. Check that off the list.
I had a salad for lunch, another walk for Oscar then I gave him his raw hide. OH, he thought he died and went to heaven. I sat in my chair and read my book for a few min til I succumbed to a little nap. Why a nap, who knows, I had enough sleep last night. I slept from 8:30pm til 7:30am with no interruptions! Amazing.
There was a valentine party at 3, wear red, so off to the rec hall I went. We played some games and had a lot of fun. I talked to a woman from Wisconsin about where she camped and what she liked best and she gave me a list of places to try. One of them was the Sweet Pea Festival in Bozeman MT on Aug 2. Really short growing season.
Back to the camper to get ready for dinner which was at 5:30 We had spaghetti, garlic bread and salad. Brownies, white cake and ice cream with chocolate syrup for dessert and we practically rolled out of there.
Kat and I took the boys, dogs, for a walk and saw a helicopter flying very low overhead. There had been some emergence vehicles out on the road so we thought it was news or med-evac. We walked over to the field next to the road where the helicopter had landed and discovered that a woman had fallen in her home and the medics, talking to the hospital doctors, decided she had to be transported to a larger facility than was around here. So she got a very expensive helicopter ride.
After all the excitement we went to our own campers and called it a night.
