Gator Motel
Gatorland....NOT Today we were breaking biscuits at breakfast with Sam & Sandy. The Cracker Barrel had the dining room of choice. Always excellent both in atmosphere and food. We had Sam's favorite table: the window seat. He can spread out and line his various entrees along the sill. Just like his own personal smorgasbord. An hour later, the question was "what shall we do now"? A series of serendipities developed quickly. With the two diehard pickers at the helm, we headed off to the Auburndale Flea Market. Along the way, we came across the old Gator Motel. Cory had thought this was the original Gatorland because of the massive display out front but it wasn't. At one time, it might have had a small alligator viewing area but all of it is closed up now....the Gators are Gone...gobbled up! The Auburndale flea market offers an array of assorted goods but what makes it stand out are the animal attractions: Buffalo & Alligators. I only got a picture of the Buffalo. Sandy saw the 'gators and said it was pathetic because they were crammed into a small enclosure inside one of the buildings....that would have disturbed me. They also offer a free circus Auburndale Flea Market
From Beautiful Gowns to Buffalo show on the weekend which the girl said included a pig and a dog....pathetic, again. A wonderful, miraculous happening occurred at this flea market. Cory found a sister for Lulu! She looks like a Florida gal as she is quite tanned. She has long flowing hair but so did Lulu until I gave her the bad haircut. Lulu is speechless to say the least. Sam was thrilled for all of us. NOW...the dilemma: what to name her?? Suggestions are welcome. What a rewarding and gratifying day! Rolling on down the road to Winter Haven, we located Gary's Oyster & Seafood Restaurant that was recommended.....rats: it was closed! Never fear...our favorite eatery is calling us. Where's that? you ask. CHERRY POCKET, of course. Each visit only gets better. So many sights to see. Pretty Bird Parrot was perched on the outside fence to bid us adieu. Lulu's sister jumped on the tractor seat that was hauling a boat at the entrance to Cherry Pocket. I think she may become as much of a show-off as you-know-who. A short distance from home, it began to rain. Too bad...too late. It didn't rain on our parade of fun which all began at breakfast
A Miracle
Lulu's Sister.....so happy with Sam & Lulu and lasted all day.
Tuesday mornings at Tropical Palms consists of coffee hour for the long termer's. The group is slowly beginning to dwindle in size as the folks start their journeys homeward. It is always a sad time as the familiar faces disappear and their RV spaces become vacant. But in the words of Dr.Seuss: "Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened".

Lulu's 'sister'
Perhaps Mimi for Lulu's sister's name....reminiscent of Mimi from the Drew Carey Show.
