Geo: 39.5416, -104.951We got up early to start the process of getting the kids ready for VBS/Sports camp at a local church on the other side of I 25.About 7am, we realized we couldn't find any tennis shoes for David, so I mentioned to Glenn, we better make a Wal-mart run before arriving at the church. Also, we had run out of diapers for Lucy.The kids had cereal and yogurt for breakfast at the "camping spot". We made sure that both David and Emily had their water bottles labeled and that I had their permission slips in hand.When we arrived at Wal-mart - we conquered and divided. Friday 17th June 2011 Today we spent the early morning at the Dillon's Farmers' Market. This had stalls along a street, mainly selling various types of home produce such as breads, cookies, sausages and hamburgers. As we'd only had breakfast an hour or so beforehand we weren't too keen to sample them. They also had the usual stalls of different crafts and art, Judy finding an interesting set of wine glass 'identifiers'. We purchased 8 of these to use at our next dinner party or when we have a group who need to keep track of their glass. From here we continued on to Frisco, driving across the Dillon Dam to park at the bus transfer station there. I'm sitting in the John Tomay Memorial Library in Georgetown, CO - the best source of free wifi in this cute little town. Hanging directly across from the desk is Harry, the stuffed head of the last buffalo in Clear Creek County, who was killed, stuffed and given to the library in 1935, only 11 years after this wonderful little building was built. This town loves its library - there is a charming little park outside with a bandstand, just dedicated this year by the Friends of the Library. Yea for great public libraries... Yesterday was a real road trip day - we started out from Bryce at 6:30, pulled off into the Phillips 66 station about two hours later for a breakfast break - nothing like cereal in a plastic bowl perfumed by the gas ... read more
