So we have been in the Barstow area for awhile. We are currently staying in a small campground in Owl Canyon, before moving here we stayed in a small RV park in Barstow called Shady Lane. We are really enjoying the campground because it is very scenic and peaceful. This area has so much to see, we have been on a hike every day, and seeking geocaches too. Rainbow Basin is adjacent to the campground and a geologic wonderland. I took lots of pictures. Also scaled quite a hill up to a small cave that had a geocache nearby. That was a crazy hike, glad neither of us fell. We then went down the road out to the desert and found another cache after driving down a powerline road we parked and had to walk a bit. This area has lots of desert tortoises, but unfortunately none out and about today. We spoke to a sherriff driving down the road, he said that they were mostly in hybernation this time of year. But sometimes they could be found along the paved road as they like the warmth. The other day we went to a McDonalds here that is called McDonald Station

- The actual restaurant is inside train cars. There are also some gift shops, a liquor store and panda express all linked together in old train cars. These are all in Barstow. Pretty neat.

Well not much more to report. We are having a blast and will be here in the area at least another week if not longer.
