Kevin and I woke up really early this morning and drove up to Sylmar to meet up with Keston, Sally, Erika, Rocio, Rick, and the 3 kids. We met everybody at a Mcdonalds in Sylmar off the Interstate 5. After having breakfast, we all set off in our 2 vehicles for the 4 hour drive up to Yosemite. Just before arriving at Yosemite, we stopped in the town of Oakhurst to pick up alcohol, food, and supplies. We finally arrived at Yosemite around midday and stopped at a scenic vantage point overlooking the entire Yosemite Valley. With one of the best views in the entire park, the viewpoint was crowded with visitors making a quick stop to take their obligatory photos and soak in the scenery.
Continuing our drive into Yosemite Valley, we made a stop at Bridalveil Falls, the park's 2nd most famous waterfall which resembles a bride's wedding veil. The parking lot was overflowing with vehicles and it took forever just to find a spot to park. The plan was to hike up to the falls and play in the spray. It didn't take very long into the hike before we started to get soaked by

Group shot at the overlook stopthe mist from the falls. We continued to the end of the trail where the spray was tremendous and made it very difficult just to see. Everybody was having a good time playing in the mist while soaking wet.
After drying off and having a few beers, we drove further into the valley and found a popular meadow with a fantastic view of Yosemite Falls. For the next few hours we just hung out, grilled some hot-dogs and hamburgers, and just relaxed. Everybody started getting tired from hanging out in the sun all day and from the early start so we packed up our things and drove back to Oakhurst. While driving back, we noticed a lot of people had pulled over and were looking at something in the forest. Somebody told us that the people were looking at a bear. So a few of us got out of the car and saw a baby bear wandering through the forest. People starting getting a bit too close to the bear in my opinion. When you see a baby bear, the mother bear is usually somewhere nearby. A huge angry bear could have charged at us out of nowhere
thinking we were a threat to her cub. We watched the bear cub as it disappeared deeper into the forest before getting back in our cars. Kevin and I had originally planned just to drive up for the day and drive back at night. However, it was such a tiring day that we just decided to spend the night with everybody else. We all split up into 2 rooms with Kevin and I sharing a room with Rocio, Rick, Anthony, and Erika. The evening was spent watching TV, playing cards, and getting some Taco Bell. After an uncomfortable night where we fit 6 people in a room with 2 beds, Kevin and I woke up at around 6am before anybody else was awake. We quietly slipped out of the room to drive back home arriving just before noon.
