We are staying at the youth hostel in San Luis. Came up yesterday from Los Angeles, stopping at Santa Barbara to tour the beach and the Mission. Kids watched two DVDs, including Polar Express. Willy paused occasionally to look at the beautiful scenery: the hills, the vineyards, the ocean. Denny mostly watched the screen. They were impressed by the history of the 18th century Franciscan mission.... read more

Willy: A place we highly recommend is the Sheraton Hotel near the Los Angeles international airport (LAX). To sightsee, try getting to the Pixar studios. They have tours four times a day. Or, go to the Warner Brothers studios. They also have tours every half hour, with a movie. Do not forget to look around the beach. Denny: Arnold Schwarzenegger said, Ignorance is a human concept, based on ... ignorance. Willy: In Santa Monica, go to the pedestrian area on Second Street to find good dining and stores. Then, if you have time, you should go north toward San Francisco. Arnold: In Venice, we were surprised by the number of weird people on the beach. We could not find Nicholas Cage's house. Dilshad was not impressed by Venice.... read more

San Luis Obispo. Funny I’ve always thought it looked more of a spelling mistake than the name of a town, ok city. For us it’s really just a convenient stop on our route north, only spending one night here. Nice place though, seems to have its own microclimate, very pleasant right now, good hill views and proximity to the sea. All the above serve to make property prices red hot, but it does look a real nice place to live. As usual went to check out the local beaches, first to Morro Bay, more of an estuary town, harbour, sandy spit on the other side of the river, but the mist was in, wind blowing, so athough it looked good it was a bit cold. Programmed the new g.f. to get us to Pismo Beach which ... read more

... read more

I came back to these United States a week ago friday. I spent the week at home in Los Angeles. I watched a lot of that show, Lost. That's pretty much all I did, because LA is boring. So I decided that I would move back to Davis. I'm supposed to work with a professor up there, and make hiphop beats... seems like a decent life for a couple of months. I stopped in San Luis Obispo to visit my friend Nitsan. Last night we went to some pubs downtown and drank four pitchers of California microbrews (chopp, of course) We saw this crazy-funky-electronic-ish band... the bartender was drunk so she gave us discounts... woo hoo. I'd like to continue writing a blog of travels... but I'll be stagnant for some time, so check me out ... read more

If I've never mentioned it, I LOVE THE OCEAN!!! LOOOOOVE it. We stayed Sunday night in a Bakersfield Walmart. It really was my first taste of civilization (other than Pep Boys, and walking to McDonalds). I felt that I outta live it up. Sooo, first, I walked around Walmart. I started in the clothing section, then worked my way over to the Easter candies, then the toys, electronics.....I think I went around twice. Just looking, and chatting on my cell phone. Then, I went back to the RV and grabbed Kalib. I took him to Petco (its where the Pets go) which is 2 shops down from Walmart. We walked around there twice. Kalib couldn't get enough of the chinchila cage. He liked that smell. I brought Kalib back to the RV then headed 3 shops ... read more

Its probably best to start with the night before... I am eager to leave for New York tomorrow, but the anxiety that I remember before moving to London is missing this time. I’m confident that everything is going to be great. Lindsey, however, I think, is pretty nervous. Her first time leaving SLO is obviously a big deal, especially since we are going to be away from the Fam. Both Lindsey’s family and mine were at the airport to see us off. (Rather than attaching the pictures on this message, here is a link to them--they are too small to post and, as you can see from this one, are blurry). The site is SLOpics It was sad, but not terribly, because we will be back fairly soon and I think everyone understands that. So, after ... read more
