It was my birthday on saturday and managed to have quite a fun-filled weekend. I should really be studying at the moment but thought i'd put that off for a while and post another entry in the blog. I'd been studying a lot lately so this weekend it was good to just kick back and get up to some mischief. Friday i was invited to go Tijuana (TJ) in Mexico with some of my newer friends. I wasn't told that i'd be the only guy with five 18 year old girls but guess i wasn't complaining. Drove down to the border in one of the girl's 7-series BMW and walked across the border. There was meant to be a big night at a club with cheap entry and all you can drink for Cinco De Mayo (some Mexican holiday celebrating the victory of a war in the 19th century i think). We were supposed to meet a guy to take us to the club and get us in but we couldn't get hold of him on the phone. After about 5 minutes waiting for a taxi a scuffle broke out and some guy was chased by cops, security guards and taxi
Momentary disappointment
We almost went straight home when the girls got spooked by guns being drawn... but we soldiered ondrivers. They caught him and started kicking the crap out of him on the ground. I didn't really know what was going on but there was a lot of commotion and then the cops pulled out their guns. The girls seemed pretty uneasy about this so we walked away. A little later we learned that the guy getting beat up was our friend we were supposed to be meeting and the argument had something to do with competing clubs fighting over where all the tourists would be going. What a great introduction to TJ. I guess everyone who warned me it was a hole in the ground was right. Anyway, after convincing the girls not to go home, we found a club downtown which was pretty cheap and a bit of fun. The night was pretty good all round, drinking, dancing, meeting a few people... the usual i spose. Managed to run into yet another aussie. Also ended up hooking up with one of the girls that came down with us so a pretty good start to my birthday.
Saturday morning i woke up in the girls dorm on campus and had to rush home to shower and change and
get to Sea World. We had a field trip there with one of my classes. Was actually a good day even tho we were learning. Got to see a bunch of dolphins and whales. Me and another bloke in the class grabbed a beer between taking notes to make the day a bit more exciting.
That evening watched the Lakers get eliminated from the NBA playoffs on TV and then went to the international dorms to go to a party. The party was for a friend/acquaintance whos birthday was the day after mine so worked out well coz most of my uni mates were there and i didn't have to organise anything. Was fun until it got broken up by the campus police. I was stupid enough to get caught drinking in a public area- again (last time was a few weeks ago). I think this means i'll have to meet with the Dean of the university and may even get community service. It sucks how strict they are sometimes about parties and drinking on campus.

happy birthday mate!! i forgot again but ive got a good excuse. i was pissed with custy in the MCC bar at the footy. you seem to outdo yourself with every blog entry. keep up the shenanigens. ps. i had my first experience with a girl with fantapants in melbs.
