Day three and still going strong though the kids starting to show the odd sign of weariness, as you will see from the picture. Thankfully the daily buffet breakfast re-energised them, so by 8am they are ready to go again!
We went to Universal Studios and were completely blown away. The rides and shows were amazing. Having determined our assault plan the night before, we started the day in the lower of the two lots and hit the main attractions before the crowd really poured in. This included the Trans Formers ride 3D, Revenge Of The Mummy (Sarah's favorite... NOT! Em and I nearly peed too!!!), the Jurassic Park water ride and looked at the props etc from NBC - Universal shows/movies.
The Transformers was incredible and Bretts favorite so we had to do that one twice, not that we were complaining!
Brett decided that us three girls needed a second ride on the Mummy to prove it was not that scary but I really don't think it worked, and him laughing at us did not really help... I will make him take Sarah and Emma to therapy in the coming years!!!
Then with knees shaking, it
was back to the upper lot. We went to Terminator 2: 3D, The Simpsons Ride, Shrek 4D and much to Brett's disappointment the House of Horrors was closed. We covered heaps then took in the Universal Studio Tour.
The tour was great and we covered all those sets including War of the Worlds with the crashed 747, Desperate Housewives street - Wisteria Lane, Jurasic Park, Jaws, King Kong the 360 degree 3D created by Peter Jackson and heaps of other areas which was great!!!
We saw the Waterworld show and that was fantastic and kids are dying to see the real movie now.
We were surprised at the length and complexity of all the rides and shows, they really do it so well and we left each one with big smiles and shaking our heads with amazement. You go in thinking you some idea of what the ride will involve, but each surprised us which was brilliant.
Another great day with the weather being fantastic.
Have to say, only issue for the day was driving in LA proper which was the only bad part of the start and end of the day... glad Brett was
driving as he thinks my lead foot would have caused an accident or two! We had our moments like when Susan, the GPS suddenly told us to exit right and Brett had six lanes to get across in 100 metres with traffic going crazy, vitually no gaps.... and Brett deciding we ARE going to make the exit! We did thankfully, and no naughty words from me which was amazing, although I think I suddenly aged 10 years in about 10 seconds!
To Brett's great relief, we made it home in time for happy hour at the Hotel - free beer, wine and soft drinks and as many free hotdogs as we wanted. Kids loved it, and Brett enjoyed his well earned beers!
