On the road for a week; my gosh....
Hello from Bakersfield, CA; Since my last post, we have stayed in Red Bluff and Turlock, CA. Both nights were spent at the Moose club; $10 a night charge to park and use their power and water. People have been very nice. In fact , in Red Bluff, a man named Ron went back to his house, printed us out some maps, and brought them to us the next morning. I hope we are as friendly at our lodge when out of towners come in!!
Coming over the Siskyous was fine; no snow; in mountain passes until well after Shasta; Ate up the fuel;
Curt is a good 4 -5 hour driver; we usually leave around 10 and park around 3.
California roads are all what you have heard them to be. bumpy; rocks this motorhome all around. Bang Bang!
Between Turlock and Bakersfield, there is beautiful farm land; water is sure an issue here. Signs posted all over blaming Congress for the lack of...We have seen fruit trees in bloom and daffodils blooming. Diesel is outrageous; Can't wait to get to Apache Junction and park this monster for a few weeks.
Here in Bakersfield, we are at a park in an orange grove. We can pick oranges right from the trees. Ohh they are sweet!
We have been eating in; I stuffed our freezer here in the motorhome with what was in our freezer at home. Kinda fun! Finally was able to do laundry; boy had a lot; over a week's worth.
We haven't stopped much to take in any sites; Been driving pretty hard to get to Needles by Tues the 15th; Hopefully when we meet up with Rick and Marcy in Needles, we can relax a bit and see what the area has to offer.
The weather for the past couple of days has been in the 70's but a storm is coming in which will bring some rain; Hopefully not for long and won't get in our way over in Needles!!
Internet is iffy; so probably won't be connected again until we get to Apache Junction; whenever, I will post again!
