Carol's Family
Carol's Family Press “view Full details” at the end to see all the pictures.
Well we are finally at our first National Park. We had hoped to leave on Wednesday June 9th but had car trouble and had to wait until Monday June 14th. We went to Carol’s Daughters home in Southern Georgia and saw her family and Grandkids. We left Tuesday morning about 10:00 am. Drove until late and slept in the car in Texas. Then another 1,000 miles on Wednesday and slept in the car in Benson Arizona. We arrived at the Grand Canyon about 1:00 pm on Thursday. Set up camp and it was great to stretch out the legs in the tent last night. One more night here and then off to some other parks in Utah and then on to California.
The days are dry, in the mid 80’s and nights in the low 30’s. Very extreme and everything dries out fast. We have been touring the Grand Canyon and really enjoy it. Never listen to your park host when he says your food is safe on the camp table. Came back today and something had been into everything with all the eggs and other things missing. Oh
At Our Camp
At our Camp well, we will keep them secured from now on.
We saw a few elk in the park and plan to tour some more things this evening. Keep in touch and send us e-mails. Ron & Carol!
