Well we have arrived in Huntington Beach California at my daughter’s home, Carrie. We left the Grand Canyon and drove north toward Zion National Park. Along the way we stopped at Lee’s Ferry along the Colorado River and we put our feet in the water. Carol tried to hitch a ride on some of the river rafts.
Boy the desert is hot and dry. We went through Zion National park and it was great. We would recommend spend a more time in Zion. You go into the Canyon there and there is water, cooler and beautiful.
On the 20th we traveled to Joshua Tree National park but it was off season, hot dry and no shade. We went on to the Salton Lake in Southern California but it was also hot, dry and flies so we headed to the coast just above San Diego. We spent the night on the coast at a state park. The next day we drove up the coat to my daughter’s home.
It is now June 23 and we are in Sequoia NP and the trees are huge. We are stopped at

This was a nice refreshing stop from the Hot DesertWuksachi Lodge and this is the first we have been able to plug in the computers and have internet access. We are camped at Buckeye flat which is beside a mountain stream and has only 28 sites. It is tent only at this site and has steal bear boxes at each site and you have to keep all food and other interesting things in there. The bears will even break into cars for food. There is only community water and restrooms at these sites. No electricity, cell phone service or showers. We have our solar shower that we use a lot in these parks. Hope all are doing well and keep in touch!
