This is a day of rapids! ABC Alive Below Crystal!! We survived the Crystal Rapids. We were wet early on in the morning. It seemed chilly, but only briefly.
Floating down the Colorado, a familiar sight came into view, the bridge leading into Phantom Ranch. The temperature was sweltering, 106 in the shade and 112 in the sun. We met folks doing a “rim to rim” in one day. WOW, in this heat I can’t imagine. The post cards we mailed from the ranch are brought up to the postal service by way of mule. Everyone is anxious to get back on the water and get a cool breeze. There is very little shade so we just wade into the river for some relief
