Fishing on the Colorado

Well, we’re back on the river and we’re continuing to move downstream. Today was a great day for rapids. We just hit one right after another - we were soaked! As soon as we’d get a little bit dry, another rapid.
We stopped and did a hike up a stream and we followed the stream right through a gorge all the way to a beautiful waterfall. Everybody got to play in it - another just beautiful, beautiful place. People could climb up behind the falls and jump into a deep pool and cool off.
For afternoon hike, went up a slot canyon back to another little falls, but the important thing about this was the geology as we walked back. The whole Grand Canyon is nothing but layer after layer of the earth’s history. You can see these different layers of rock - each age is sort of marked.
One of the participants, Jack was celebrating his 70th birthday. He brought along a case of Champaign. The crew even made a birthday cake for him (not and easy job in the bottom of the Grand Canyon). So we all enjoyed a steak dinner with
