Bisbee 021
Henna cooking breakfast It was a very windy night. I couldn't get to sleep. Maybe I read too long. I got up to go to the bathroom a few times. Got up around 7:30. Denny said the wind woke her a few times. Whenever someone moves around in the RV, you can feel it slightly if you are laying in bed. Denny said she felt it. She thought we were perhaps 'carrying on'. Not!
We invited everyone over for lattes. After our lattes we had a big breakfast: eggs, hashbrown, bacon, sausage, toast, orange juice.
We had reservations for a tour of the Queen Mine at 10:30am. It is within walking distance, just down the hill. We got to the tour and suited up, heavy coats, helmets, flashlights; seemed quite realistic. The pictures are great.
The tour was fantastic, so interesting. It was 47 degrees in the mine. I've always been interested in mines and have always wondered what they looked like inside. Our guide was a miner here for 10 years so his explanations were very interesting. I would definitely recommend it if you ever come to Bisbee.
After the tour we walked back to the RV park. We were all kind of

Enjoying breakfast chilled so we decided to have lattes...again.
After our lattes, we went to Lowell, the town down the road to have lunch. We had lunch at the Bisbee Breakfast club, an old diner. The town is kind of deserted; not much there. It was pretty good; nothing outstanding.
Next we are driving to Naco, AZ to see the Turquoise RV park to see if we ever want to stay there. It's a nice park that is so close to the Mexican border, we can see the fence.
We then decide to drive to Douglas, AZ, another border town to see if we can find a duty free shop. We find one and all of us except Denny and Kenny purchase some liquor. Denny doesn't have an ID and Kenny will stay with her. Because the routine is: you buy the liquor on the border in the US, the workers at the store walk you to the border, you cross over into Mexico, walk a bit and then cross a street and turn back towards the US. You then come back to the US border and have to go through the US immigration/customs line where they check your drivers license or
passport. I went first and they opened a second line and Annie went to the second line. Larry, Henna, Bobbie and I all passed through quickly, no delays. We had to wait for Annie. The agent was chatting with her, asking questions, typing a mile a minute on the keyboard as he looked to his left at the concealed monitor. Annie thinks he just likes to chat, but I think he may have been checking her out because of her Australian accent...who knows. She finally was OK'd to go.
We got back to the RV park and all went to Henna and Larry's. We made some drinks, cheese and wine, chips and salsa. We played a round of Catch Phrase...I kept score and refereed. I also helped Denny since she had never played before. It was fun.
For dinner we had grilled chicken, fingerling potatoes, asparagus...lemon bars or apple dumplings and of course a good bottle of wine, a Malbec.
We chatted for a while and then it was time for bed.
