Monday morning I woke with a fever & Mike was not feeling the best either, so after breakfast, we went back to bed! Luckily, our drive Monday was only 45 minutes so we could get the rest we need. We left Homer about 11:30 & arrived at Reel Em Inn Campground a little over an hour later. The campground was much nicer than we expected. After getting checked in, we took a nap as we had to get up early for our halibut charter on Tuesday. We certainly have some kind of nasty virus with fevers & coughs! I woke Tuesday with 103 fever & almost didn’t go on our halibut trip, but I perked up a little after a shower & did go out on the boat making sure I had enough DayQuil, Tylenol & ibuprofen on hand. Wow; what an awesome adventure! Gotta Fish Charters with captain Al Henderson & his deck hand, Adam, really know how to find big halibut, & Mike caught one that was 92#!! Our limit was 2 each & Al made sure we had our limit before heading back to shore. There were 6 of us on the boat & everyone had their limit. We were 24 miles off shore & the waters were a little choppy. We had our scopolamine patches on, so we didn’t get sea sick but 3 of the 6 of us on the boat did. We returned to shore & took a few pics of our fish before the boys cleaned them for us. We have a few pkgs in our RV freezer & the rest will be shipped home; 80 lbs worth!! We were so tired after such a big day of fishing & decided to take a little nap when we returned to the RV at 4:30. Well, we woke at 10 pm, skipped supper, took Nyquil & slept until 7 this morning. We both had fevers again, so we took a 1 hour nap after breakfast & finally left for Seward at 10:45. We enjoyed a beautiful drive down the Seward highway & arrived at Stoney Creek RV Park at 1:30. We are having halibut for supper tonight, Poor Man’s Lobster style! We are hopeful we will wake in the morning good as new so we can enjoy Seward. We have not felt well enough to even go for a walk in 4 days; big bummer!!
