On the road to Valdez- the base camp before we set out for our 2 day kayaking trip. The highway was gorgeous. We passed glaciers, waterfalls and beautiful mountains. Once we got to Valdez, we checked into our sketchy hotel (it's a tiny town so what can ya expect), met up with our guide Tom to go over safety checks (including instructions on pooping- yes, I actually get to light my own toilet paper on fire!- which was actually quite exciting to me), and wandered around Valdez Harbour at sunset. Valdez was so beautiful. The mountains and the lakes... I could have been in the Alps.
