No more locks!!!

We waited at our last lock today which took us down to sea level. We are in tidal waters, our new challenge. A restful night and a short day today because of the lack of anchorage choices on this part of the river. One more short day tomorrow before we reach Mobile Bay on Friday.

We are anchored at an abandoned Lock 1 near Jackson Alabama. I saw an alligator as we entered so no swimming even if it is hot and muggy again. Plenty of bird life to look at Including Storks flying in formation overhead.

No shortage of tows on the water today as well as fishing boats. Not one cruising boat, they are staying out of the hurricane area for insurance purposes. This crew does not worry about such things.

We will miss this easy cruising once we reach the gulf with all the boat traffic and weather challenges. Oh well, one wave at a time.

Sporadic internet again today and probably tomorrow as well.

The frying pan fir the meat with a paper plate as a cover. A boiling pot of potatoes doubles up as the veggie warmer. One inverted lid covered by the other.
