Walking the beach in San Carlos on our way down to Mazatlan. This was our first night in Mexico We have arrived at our winter home. All set up and enjoying the view and getting together with old friends....We arrived November 4th. after a long trip from Nogales, AZ to here in Mazatlan. Our first day, October 31st was just to San Carlos. We decided to stay three days to relax and rest up for the rest of the trip. With our new friends, Dale and Judy and their son, Alex we had a great time showing them what we love about San Carlos. It was the very first place we went in Mexico many years ago. It was in 1994. We parked on the beach and stayed three weeks. Met some amazing people and fell in love with the country. The people here are so warm and helpful. And we found that all the way down.
Our second leg of the Mexican trip was to Los Mochis......not a great place and we missed our stop so we had to find another Pemex gas station to park in. Well we found one, but it was dirty, but fenced.....so we stayed. We met up with another family in San Carlos with three young girls, they were from Penticton also. They

Judy and her son, Alex jumping into the pool at Totonaka RV Park in San Carlos. were looking for someone to travel with as they were alone. So the three of us went together. Neither one of the couples we traveled with this year had driven in Mexico and they were looking to us for guidance......hahaha. We have come twice, but always followed.....so this was a real test for us. There was only a few minor hiccups....like going down the wrong way in a round-about. But we made it to Los Mochis and circled the wagons and made it through the night. The next day was a long day but we said good-bye to Tara and Wes with their three girls as they were heading a different area in Mazatlan. And the rest of us headed to the isla....Stone Island. The road was bad the first kilometer but after that is was all paved right to the town.
We made it to our destination......Tres Amigo RV Park.....on Stone Island. It was pretty quiet when we got here as a lot of the group hadn't arrived yet. so here we are for the next 4 1/2 months.
I have been very bad with doing this blog. But you can only write about what you do

Having a cold one at the "Soggy Peso Bar" in San Carlos. It's on the north side of the town. Great place to sit on the beach in the shade. Sometimes they have live music. for so long and then it just get boring.....today is March 17th...where has the time gone. We leave to start on our trip home tomorrow. We have had a fabulous time again this season. The weather has been colder than it was last year, but it is still warm. We have had many wonderful days with our friends, Gerry has been able to go fishing once a week to a bass lake and then he goes fishing whenever he wants off the rocks here on the island, I took a couple of art classes and a mosaic class. It was fun. As much as we love it here we still miss home and our family and friends there. We will miss the "Isla", but we are ready to head home. The is one of the reasons we bought a home on wheels......to move around. Here are some pictures of some of the things we did........
