Ava hangin' on by her little flippers Well things "ain't so fun today...." Went to bed around 12:30 last night feeling a bit woozy, and woke sick as could be....vomited most of the night and NO not a hangover. Playa is SO safe with purified water throughout, but sometimes you can get eat something a bit off & well, I guess in my times here, it was my turn. When mom woke up & heard my situation, she came and lay down with me and got me a cold cloth, making me feel like a 9 year old again!
Managed to take my old carcass to the pool today insisting I was going to try and enjoy the day with the kids somehow. I was curled up in a ball looking like something the cat WOULDN'T drag in. Well despite the best of intentions, I was up & down to our condo, lying down & feeling just rough. Not long after Pat showed up with the same symptoms and hasn't come out of her room really. The troops have been sending up ginger ale & we've both finally kept down a few crackers now. Missy our neighbor highly recommended to buy Lomotil a good safe cure for

Walkway with trees taken from pool stomach issues which she highly recommends buying lots of to take home with us; a miracle cure. We have no idea what caused this as Pat, mom and I all ate the fish and mom's fine...Very few people get sick here in Playa and it seems it happens more at resorts. I was blaming the extra margarita I had a supper; it was so good but I'm not a big margarita fan so I know the 2 I had was not the problem.
I'm starting to perk up, but this will not be a margarita day. Never was I so happy to see Marth come in the door with Canada Dry Ginger ale!! Ginger ale, a must have on any trip.
Mom & Marth hit the Mega for groceries for the week ahead. Mom wants to make fahitas, so I expect Pat and I will hold our tummies & watch them eat. However, somehow they found chicken noodle soup so that may be a big hit tonight. I'm offering big money for the first bowl!
We did get some great pics at the pool today. The girls were doing synchronized swimming, and mom who has a fear

Olympic swimmer Joanie! of pools, managed to wear goggles and put her face underwater! She also swam across the pool; big moment for her! We had this whole big pool & hot tub to ourselves all day which was great. Being surrounded by all these trees & flowers does a miserable person good. The staff is constantly cleaning the pools, hot tub, sweeping, trimming the trees and so on. It's a spotless hotel, and as a perfunctory gesture, the guard is always walking around smiling and checking on things. They have bent over backwards to make our stay amazing. I'd return here in a minute if I could smooth talk the owner again!!!
It is 5 pm and it still 35 with the humidex. You just don't feel it here with the ocean breezes. Tomorrow if all goes well we'll hit the beach in the cool bohemian town of Tulum which is about an hour away. Lots of celebrities stay here. Stay tuned for me and Brad Pitt cozying up together.
So here's our pics...try to have a little sympathy for me even if we are in a tropical paradise.

What a bummer
So sorry about your sick day. Kinda takes the fun out your vacation time. I hope you two are over this bout of stomach upset tomorrow and can enjoy your outing to Tulum. I hope the rest of the group stays healthy. Not withstanding, the condo and area look magnificent and staying close to base doesn't seem to be too hard to take.
