Hi Guys
This is 3 weeks on so will update from Mexico City, Fabulous city, we stayed in the Centre and went to see Diego Rivera’s murals, Americano Latino building (Mini Empire State Building) we were escorted to the Stadium Aztec to see a match, St Luis and Atlantic...was amazing.
went out a few nights in the Zocala and met a few Mexicans guys, one was the sports commentator for football and the other a Mexican wrestler called El Santo.
7 Hr bus ride after 5 nights to Acapulco, the heat was unbearable, the beaches amazing, just chilled there for 4 night and took a 14 hr night bus to Puerto Escondido, it was soo different to Acapulco, more chilled out and the locals didn’t seemed fazed by us, we met loads of backpackers unlike Mexico and Acapulco, Puerto Es is a surfing town, nothing much else to do there only laze on the beach or surf, chilled out there for 3 night in the Mayflower Hostel were we met an Irish couple Mark and Emma, lovely people and gave us great tips on where to go etc...,
then another grueling night bus to San Christobal...all I can say about this place in Mexico is AMAZING....it was like no where we had been, like a little European or French town, cobbled streets and sooo clean you would feel guilty walking on the streets, the markets must have been the best we have come across so far, shopped there for 3 days and met up with 2 English people, Ally at the hostel and Mike in the bus station on the way to the border to Guatemala...Thank god as we have no Spanish and would have been lost with out them, so we all traveled together across the border which was a bit daunting to say the least, made it to Lake Atitlan Panahajel in one piece and stayed over night in a hostel, those rucksacks are no joke when looking for accommodation!
Made our way the next day on a boat across Lk Atitlan, amazing views and landed in San Pedro....crazy place...good for party’s!! and we all did just that! Did a 3 hour horse ride, galloping around the lake it was just so surreal, best experience so far, we weren’t much good after it and my
ass is still killing me.
Met up with 2 Israeli guys Gadi and More at the hotel in Lk Atitlan....funniest guys ever....Next stop Antigua, Chicken bus to Chichi and another chicken bus to Antigua 4 hrs in all.
