Mexico City 15:00 ENO PISEM BOGU Bog, sedim na klopci sredi nakupovalnega centra, sokiran in srecen. Neverjetna punca. Spoznal sem jo pred dobrimi dvemi meseci in ji razlagal o projektu EN SVET. Vceraj mi je pokazala njen nacrt, kako izvesti projekt EN SVET v njeni soseski. Pred 10 minutami sem rahlo razocaran nad dnevom polnim zavrnitev pristopil do moskega srednjih let in ga prosil, ... read more

World Trade Center, Ciudad de Mexico 20:35 I just entered one of the internet cafes and asked if they can sponsor me few hours of internet, so I can do some research about which companies to visit. Today I spent all day going from company to company and it brought no results. I received a letter from Japan Airlines and they gave me a discount, so the ticket would cost me 880 dolars. I divided this in 10 parts and now I keep asking companies to participate with one part. I feel good. Every company that refuses me, brings me closer to my goal... to find one who will accept me. I know it is waiting for me. I just received a letter from the editor of one section of the newspaper Reforma. He told me ... read more

Mexico City, 31th of July, 2005 On Tuesday I was on Japan Airlines and after two hours of waiting (almost in front of the doors of his office), the director of the company T. Hayashi, finally accepted me. He was really nice and he has one of the coolest offices that I have ever seen! “Boy, I like your mission and your enthusiasm, but unfortunately we cannot give you a free ticket. We will think about a discount,” he finished our conversation. It disappointed me a little, since I explained to him in details, how Japan Airlines could benefit from my presence in the Mexican media. So, on Tuesday the wild hunt on sponsors started. I was all around and it seems almost impossible to get any sponsors from the companies here around. The fight goes ... read more

The chapter of Latin America is closing I am back in Mexico City again, among all the great memories and all the friends. The exploration of the beauties of Chiapas and Oaxaca ended way too soon. Now I have more questions than I have answers about Mexican Indians, Zapatistas and Mara Salvatruche. On Monday I left San Cristobal and arrived to Las Margaritas. From there I went to the dzungle La Candona, one of the most beautiful parts of Mexico with cruel and bloody history. I got to know the Zapatismo more closely and I left a letter for Subcommander Marcos. On Wednesday I left the community and helped one of the Zapatista on the way to Mexico and in Tuxtla I met preachers of the word of Christ. I notice through all my journey that ... read more

Jul 23 - Back to the Mexican capital Mexico City, DF, Mexico 00:05 After 26 hours of hitchhiking in the daily heat and cold of the night, in the rain, wind and shinning sun, I arrived to Pedregal de San Nicolas, on the south of Mexico City and knocked on the door of the house of Tania, eager to see her. I was surprised to find that nobody is at home. Today I am dissapointed over myself. In Tuxtla I forgot two small batteries for charging and handwatch. My backpack is AGAIN full of honey, which I always forget to put in the plastic bag. All my clothes are torn and dirty and... For god's sake, I don't know how did I manage to forget my digital voice recorder in a car that took me to ... read more

Hey all. I have made it my hostel. There is free internet and free dinner and breakfast here, so I have a pretty good deal going. Im in a room with about 20 other people, so well see how long I last in that room. I made a quick Dutch friend who is also travelling alone and we ate together. The flights were uneventful, customs was a really long line, and my taxi ride was a little hair-raising--nothing too surprising. I did notice that the houses are all brightly colored and that if you try to speak to people in spanish they will speak back very quickly, requiring me to then go "como" and then they switch to English. Well, thats it for now, short and to the point. Once I actually have some mexican experiences, ... read more

After returning to Tucson, I was ready to leave the US and go all the way down the pacific coast of Mexico. I was glad upon arriving at the bus station, as the greyhound buses were all full and the one for Mexico was almost empty, with much more leg room and comfort. It was really astonishing that the bus service was so much better than the American service, but there was one slight hitch. When arriving the Mexico border, I was required to pay for my visa but unfortunately I did not have enough cash on me to complete the transaction. They told me I had to go back to the US side and get money out of a cash machine which I did as quickly as I could and would not have been ... read more
