woke up feeling a little more refreshed today after about 6 hrs sleep. the alarm sounded at 6:30 but i snoozed twice so got up about 6:45. it was dreary and cold and raining outside so chucked on my jeans and my new havard jumper. got ready packed my bag and mel was knocking on the door at 7:20 to head down to brekky.
had 2 mini croissants, vanilla yogurt, a banana and oj. a good breakfast.
we got our bags and out them on the bus, today we were bound for montreal.
we drove for just over 2 hrs, i slept the whole time (with my brilliant little pillow!) before we stopped at a place which translates to mean 3 rivers.it had a walmart with a maccas inside. the breakfast menu was still on so passed on that and i was hungry anyway. went into walmart though and got some nail polish and remover as the stuff i havve on is lookingg really dodgy, and its all so much cheaper here then at home.
we drove for another 2 or so hours before we reached montreal.
we went up to mont royal (by the way, if you say that quickly its sounds like montreal hehe), anyway, there is a lookout up there, u can see most of the city... except today.
today it was super foggy and u could only see the trees on the hill in front of it. but thats ok, it was a good walk to the top of the hill.
after this, they took us on a tour of montreal city. its a very pretty city and jusst by the look of it im liking it better than quebec city.
some people were doing jet boating in the afternoon, we had decided against it as it was freezing already and you get drenched doing it. so after we got dropped at the food court for lunch, mel and i shared a plate of poutine and a plate of nachos,we made our way to try and work out how to use the metro aka the subway.
it was actually really easy, we found our way to the shops very easily. we thought we'd do some shopping to fill in the arvo then spend the day tmw doing sightseeing and the rollarcoaster park (which is amazing and right opposite our hotel!)
we spent a few hours shopping down the street before catching the metro back to the stop at longuiel, came out of the subway and our hotel is literally right next door to it, perfect.
we had to wait for the jet boaters and bus to get to the hotel so by the time we got out bags, room keys and up the lift we had like 30minutes to shower and get ready to go our for dinner.
we coached it to a little place called 'essence' for our included dinner. it was nice, we got soup before hand and then had some sort of white fish with mashed potatoe, carrots and brocholli. it was a really nice meal. then they brought out a chocolate mousse, delish.
after leaving the place feeling rather full we made our way on about a 10-15 minute walk to this little street that was full of pubs, bars and clubs.
we went and had a few quiet drinks in one bar called 'thursdays' then migrated downstairs to the club part of it. the group was just about the only ones in there to start with. what we found down there was a rotating dance floor. very cool, and very entertaining.
we stayed there for quite a while before then heading to the club next door. this place was packed, we were very surprised considering its tuesday.
we stayed her til about 2:00 before walking up the street and talking to some locals who pointed us in the direction of a little cafe thing called 'amirs'... they have the best souvalaki or as they are known here shish taouk.
we caught a cab back to the hotel where i wasnt quite tired so at 3am i was re-doing my nail polish. good night out.
