We left Tadoussac at 12:30 after visiting the whale interpretation center. We could see lots of Belougas in the distance. Tadoussac is a quaint little tourist town, well worth visiting. We asked locals including the coast guard how we should plan our departure from the Saguenay River and most said check the time of high tide at Pointe-au Pere and leave 2 hours after that. Well maybe but we left the river at 8 knots an hour and when we got to the mouth we were down to 3 knots and being turn every which way by the rip tide.
