Thursday in Toronto

Our second full day in Toronto and Rachel, Darina and I headed to West Queen West, in the west (suprisingly) of Toronto which is young, quirky and funky. It was full of little shops selling expensive designer clothes, antique shops, tattoo parlours and little cute restaurants. It was quiet (because it was a weekday and everyone was at work or school).

The weather was and still is great here, around 30 degrees again. There was a nice breeze today to keep us cool though which made it a bit more bearable.

Darina introduced Rachel and I to a traditional Canadian cocktail today (at lunchtime, naughty us, but hey we are on our honeymoon so we can do what we want!!) It is called a Bloody Caesar and is made with: Clamatoe Juice (clam and tomato juice!), vodka, tobasco and spices. Rachel especially liked it!!

Tonight we are off for dinner to the gay area of Toronto (right up my street!) and then having some drinks on the 52nd Floor of a tower block at a bar called Panorma. Apparently the views of the city are great and if the thunderstorm which is due to hit tonight does, then there is a good chance we will get to see the spectacular sight of lightning striking the CN Tower. We didnt get to do this because there was a private party up there!! There hasnt been a thunderstorm anyway, so we didnt miss the views! I think we will probably go back and have a drink up there at the weekend.
