Toronto doesn't look like Manhattan. But we like it anyway We once heard that Toronto often is used as filming location for movies and TV-series where scenes from Manhattan are needed. We are Emma Holmbro and Ake Dahllof. We live in Stockholm, Sweden. We have travelled more or less regularly since the mid 1990-ies and it seems like the more we travel the more difficult it is to decide where to go next. The dog fountain

In central Toronto there is a small park behind the Gooderham Building. The park is called Berczy Park

In Berczy Park there is a fountain which is decorated with 27 dog sculptures

Distillery District

Distillery District is a large former industrial area which has been transformed into a rather interesting residential and commercial district.

Not-love locks art

The many locks that make up this artwork are not love locks. The padlocks have been put there by the artist, not loving couples

Path

Path is a large underground city which has been created by connecting a large number of buildings, metro stations, shopping centres etc. with a network of subterranean tunnels.

Path

With its 30 kilometres of tunnels Path supposedly is the largest underground shopping complex in the world.

CN Tower

The 553 meter tall CN Tower is the highest construction in Toronto.

The CN Tower is a bit of a tourist trap actually. But we have to admit that the view from the observation deck is fabulous.

Reflection

One high-rise building is reflected in the façade of another high-rise building

Art deco?

We have no idea if this is built in the style art deco or not. We are just guessing

Church of the Redeemer

We wanted to take a photo of Church of the Redeemer because from this direction the church looks quite stunning as the buildings behind it create an interesting background.

Legends Row

Outside Toronto Maple Leafs home arena is the so called Legends Row, a group of 14 statues of former ice hockey players who have played in Toronto Maple Leafs.

Mats Sundin

Mats Sundin is a retired Swedish ice-hockey player who has a statue in Legends Row

Börje Salming

Börje Salming was a Swedish ice-hockey player who has a statue in Legends Row

Scotiabank Arena

The ice-hockey team Toronto Maple Leafs has Scotiabank Arena as their home arena

Casa Loma

Casa Loma is a large mansion, or perhaps better described as a palace, which today is a museum.

Skyscrapers and three story houses

Toronto has some skyscrapers. But in between them there are plenty of low buildings, only two or three stories high. We find it odd that Toronto buildings tend to be either very high, 50 stories or more, or very low, around two stories, and that very few buildings are in between.

It is a bit cute that they added a 𝅘𝅥𝅮 before and another 𝅘𝅥𝅮 after the word "Gong"

It would for sure be hard to find a fountain that matches the dog fountain in Toronto when it comes to cuteness- I can't think of a single one that I have seen that comes even close. /Ake

Some great photos here Ake. I particularly like your pictures of the Church of the Redeemer and its backdrop, and the Gooderham Building. I found Toronto a really great city to explore, and the glass floor at the top of the CN Tower was especially memorable for me.

Too many people in CN Tower
We were unable to fully enjoy CN Tower because of all the people. Had there been fewer tourists there we would have enjoyed it more. /Ake
