The few days in London were OK I didn’t really do too much; I went and saw TATE Modern art gallery that was about it. I have decided I don’t have an eye for art. I walked around the gallery and I thought most of the art was crap. This one lady stopped and was looking at a couple of pieces of wood sticking out of the wall and she said ecstatically “I love it! I absolutely love it!”. I couldn’t believe it! I’m not sure whether it’s I don’t have an eye or appreciation of art, or that people look at things and believe it’s good because it’s in an art gallery. Maybe they really just think the same thing as me and its crap as well?
I hung around the hostel, cooked myself food and downloaded a whole lot of movies and TV series of a guy that was staying in the hostel. I was just waiting for Canada that’s why I didn’t really do anything, I can’t believe I’m going to Canada! I’m on the plane now with only 4 hours to go 😄. Before I left I bought Justin and his brother a bottle of blue
label Smirnoff vodka and a bottle of golden Bacardi, as a thank you for having me. I also bought myself an iPhone cover as I’m going to get one when I get home 😊.
Now I have landed and I’m waiting in the ferry terminal to get to Vancouver island 😊. The weather is quite miserable at the moment, but that’s ok I’M IN CANADA!!!
On the plane I met a guy called Mike he’s in his late 50’s and he’s a really cool Canadian. He works for some company that does things to do with space, at the moment he’s on a billion dollar project trying to sell 7 satellites to some guy in Saudi Arabia! He also so owns a company that does these awesome high-end adventure tours, they cost around 50K for a week but they do include a chef, private flights, etc. Anyway I spoke to him through out the flight and when we landed he said he was getting a lift with a mate and they could drop me at the bus station. I happily accepted as it would save me 2 bus rides, a guy called Steve picked us up he was really nice
as well. He dropped me at an ATM that was right near a bus stop, I got out and said a big thank you. Mike gave me his adventure tour card and said if I get bored to give him a buzz, maybe go kayaking or something…should be grand 😊.
The ATM they dropped me at wouldn’t work so I went to the petrol station and tried to use their ATM and that didn’t work either 😞. I got direction to the nearest ATM/bank and set off, I asked the teller at the bank if he could help but he couldn’t. I started to get really worried as I had no Canadian dollars at all, so I wouldn’t even be able to phone Justin if I needed to. The teller advised there was a money exchange place right across the road, RELIEF! Luckily I still had some aussie dollars set aside. I skipped across the street and got some money and then headed back to the bus stop and now I’m here waiting. Can’t wait to be able to drop my bags, relax and have a few “drinks” with Justin.
