Underground salon
Sonny seems to have cool hook ups every where he goes! Even to get his hair cut. Sonny picked me up around 11 this morning to take me downtown and show me around. First off we went to a cool refurbished basement that is now a hair salon! After Sonny got his hair cut we ventured onto Manulife centre which is where a lot of successful businesses are, including Henry Singer and Holt Renfrew. Coincidentally they are across the hall from each other and sonny works in the men's and his girlfriend Leanne in Holts. I met one of Sonny's coworkers, Robbie, who was very delightful and welcoming! We then walked around downtown, seeing what there is to see, and what a sight! "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" was going on and raised over $90,000! I bet there were over 100 men running around a track in girls high heels, and strutting their stuff. I think thats the first time I've ever seen a size 16 pair of heels. (Honestly would have been hilarious to see Sonny and Chris struggling to walk, or even better, if my dad would have done it!) We then made our way to the AGA (Art Gallery of Alberta) and took a look at some of the art. I don't get some

Got to experience driving in this little guy today! artists, but then again I think their point was for us not to understand their works and figure out a meaning for it on our own, being different for everyone. That being said, a jar full of baby dolls should seem abit demented to anyone. We wandered through downtown, going into the beautiful pyramid building thats the city hall. This building held a huge movember fundraiser, partly organized and run by Sonny! The Shaw centre was definitely memorable place, as well the river side bistro which was a cute hidden place that had a patio that over looked the river that cut the city in two. I had a wonderful soup and chicken burger! After our meal we cruised around River valley in Sonnys cute little smart car, admiring the million dollar homes, and hearing stories of the kind of people living in them. I got to see where Sonny and Preet live, and its definitely one of the nicer houses! We finished the day with slushies because Sonny had to get ready for his awards ceremony that night (he ended up winning the award for "President's award of distinction exceeding budget"). I got dropped back off at Vacuum Central

You go girl and after work we went out to the well known restaurant, the Cactus Club Cafe. We shared the tuna tatacki which is lseared ocean wise™ albacore, papaya slaw, pine nuts, and yuzu vinaigrette. Although I have never been a fan of raw fish, this was so unlike anything Ive ever tasted it almost was like candy. For dinner I got the butternut squash + prawn ravioli which is artisan made butternut squash and mascarpone ravioli, sautéed jumbo prawns, truffle butter sauce, pine nuts. This is my favourite meal ever. Ive never had such a rich and delightful meal like this one! 10 outta 10! To top it all off we had the chocolate peanut butter crunch bar – caramel sauce, crunchy chocolate pearls, topped with tahitian vanilla ice cream. Everything was perfect about the meal, even the Bellini was fit for a queen! Im asking myself why we don't have any of these in Ontario!?

Yum!
I think you've eaten more terrific food in 3 weeks than I have in 3 years! Looks delicious! I'm happy that you have been getting along so well with Sonny and Preet, as your blog entries indicate! They are showing you a wonderful city and I hope the weather stays nice for the next little while. xoxo Mom
