Provincial line
the red towers are the line between Saskatchewan and Alberta Day 27. 10,451Km
I did'nt feel like getting up today. It was drizzling all morning. I still had not decided if I was staying another day in Lloydminster or moving on. The rain did'nt help keep me there, that's for sure. I did'nt have internet either. I checked the weather for Edmonton on my phone. Hmmm, Sun. And it's only 250Km away. But it's what some might call a long weekend. Should I risk it? I check the Alberta campground catalog I got at the info centre and see a descent selection in the area. OK, I'm leaving.
It was 13:30 by the time I pulled out. No big deal since I'm only going 250Km. I pull into the park I selected from the book around 16:00 and inquire at the office if they can accommodate me for a couple nights. "Do you have a reservation?" she asks. Oh oh. Bad sign. After some humming and hawing she asks "how big is the RV?" She was obviously under the impression I had a motorhome. Once I told her it was a 16 foot trailer everything changed. A few minutes later I was backing into my assigned spot. Spot number 547. This

my favorite store. I forgot to go to the main store when I was in Winnipeg is a big park. Biggest I've been in yet.
Once I set up camp, which demands uncoupling the truck since the sites are so short, I Google some pubs, plug an address into the GPS, put on some pants and head into the city. First stop is West Edmonton Mall. Yup, it's big. The entrance I went in from which was number 50 something was close to the ice rink. As I approached I noticed the Zamboni doing it's job before what I assumed was public skating. Mental note, I parked near the rink. That I should be able to remember. I wander a little further till I find a directory board. I want to find the Apple store. There is a new iPod app I am curious about. It's on the second floor back by the ice rink. I stopped for an icecream on the way.
After discovering what I had suspected about the app I find another directory board. I think I'll head for the water park. Still on the second floor I come to a bank of windows overlooking what appears to be a huge beach. There are people lying on lounge chairs like they are tanning...

the Trans Canada into Edmonton indoors! The wave pool is busy and there are several waterslides. A couple of them must climb 100 feet in the air. I forgot about the zoo till just now as I'm writing this. Maybe I'll go back tomorrow. I head to Hooters in the food court for a t-shirt to add to my collection. This is no ordinary mall food court. There are name restaurants here.
Time for dinner. I find my exit and tell the GPS to take me to the Irish Pub I selected earlier. Irish pubs usually have good food and an interesting selection. Tonight I ordered what is probably the best Indian Butter Chicken I have ever had and I've had a few around Toronto at Indian restaurants. By 22:30 I've downed 3 pints of Coke and if I stay I'm gonna have another. That's just gonna make for too many trips to the can so once again I depend on the GPS to take me home which it does.
I'm happy to have returned to a response to an email I sent to an old friend a few nights ago. He lives on Vancouver Island and has invited me for a visit. Looks like
