Twiggy's new look. Fat tank and Luggage from Happy trail.
Hi folks,

well it's been quite a while since i was blogging here last. A lot has happened since i took the BMW into the Arctic circle. In a nutshell i will be taking 4-5 months off in the summer of 2013 to ride a motorcycle around the world. I hope to start at Land's End in the UK and ride to Eastern Russia where I will fly the bike out of (probably) South Korea and into Vancouver. From there the plan is got it, the Arctic Circle again but this time we (Ulf Mueller, a friend from Switzerland and myself) will ride from Prudhoe Bay to Cape Spear in Newfoundland. The total distance? About 36,000 kilometres. Once again I hope to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation and you can help if you want to by clicking this link . This link will take you straight to the H&S donation page. I hope i can raise around $20,000 on this trip.

In a time when we are still experiencing a recession, I would sincerely like to thank Two Companies that had the courage to sponsor me on this trip. HAPPY TRAIL motorcycle gear out of boise

Those long summer days camping by bike. This is the Horizons Unlimited meet in Nakusp BC
Idaho and SAFARI fuel tanks out of Victoria Australia . Both these companies are awesome people to deal with!

A full set of details about us and our trip can be seen at if you're interested. It shows how we have prepared the bikes ....yes I decided to use a Suzuki DR650 and leave the heavy BMW at home for this trip. You will also be able to see our blog, maps and Spot GPS locations on this site. You'll also get to find out why i called my DR650 "Twiggy" 😊

I will of course carry on blogging here but it won't be as comprehensive as the website when we are travelling. are some photos from recent trips and modifications from 2012.

Once again I would like to wish you all a happy new year 😊
