Day 31
I had an early start today. That is better than it sounds, I was in bed by about 9.45! I am still sleeping for England! I was in for breakfast at 8.15, then off and away to find the metro. It can't be hard, they are huge and definitely not hidden! I walked through the roadworks, obviously given that the hotel is in a construction site! It sounds like I am being negative there, when in fact when you are in the hotel you actually can't tell! It really doesn't impair the visit! ....
So, I set off, crossed a bridge which is the entrance to Dubai marina. I continued walking and got where I needed to be. It was easy! Only about 8 stops and I straight into the Mall. I have no intention of spending in here, it's not my type of shopping. I like shat shops! Not designer shops. Also, I seriously couldn't fit anything in my back pack! I loved the aquarium, amazing ! Then an ice rink, they certainly do think outside of the box here!
The Mall waterfall is beautiful. It had sculptures of people diving down it. Really nice, and
all inside the Mall!
Hmm.... Was that it! Yes, I admit, 828m is very high, but you don't go all the way up. You go to floor 124, again it is high, but what is the rest if it for if you can't go up there? Maybe I am just missing the point. The scenery was kind of amazing from that height, but a lot of it is barren land! Ah well, at least I did it!
I did manage just the one purchase - a Jack Wills t shirt, but only because it was cheap, well not cheap, just cheap for here! Nothing is cheap. There is no such word here! I set off back to the hotel as I wanted to cram a bit of sun bathing in. As I have been doing an activity each day I have kind of missed my chance. I found the metro quite easily, well proud, but the proudness stopped there.... Lol.....
I got off at the right stop, but came out to the right instead of to the left... epic fail! About an hour, and a tonne of sweat later, I realised how lost I was, turned around
and went back to the metro so I could start again! I did finally make it back, but I wasn't a pretty sight.... Lol....I did manage about an hour of sun. Oohhh how much I needed that cold pool! I am having my dinner at the moment, starving! I think I may go for the four courses.... Because I can as I am on my holidays!
I think I deserve a medal for that! It is Arabian night in the restaurant, I barely recognised anything! But I still managed the four courses! They were all small taster portions, but I did have good go! Now to Starbucks for my bedtime drink and upload! X

Dubai looks just as you expect it to be, very clean. My niece stopped there for a short time on her way back to Tasmania two years ago her children were very impressed, but they didn\'t spend buy anything there. You are certainly cramming everything into your trip, don,t know how you can stand the heat, it is only 25 here and we are moaning. ..
