This day started like all the others, with a full English breakfast. Today, Corey and Ace were headed to the Star Wars convention. Chrissy, Jennifer and I had the day to do whatever we wanted.
I started out walking through Kensington Park to the Royal Albert Hall. After we left the Messiah yesterday, I forgot my programs in the taxi cab. I was hopeful I could get another copy if I walked back down this morning. When I arrived the girl at the gift shop gave me a card to call or email to see if there were any programs left. I immediately sent an email and will await a response.
I loved my walk through Kensington. It wasn’t very busy even though it was a beautiful day. The most direct way to Royal Albert Hall was down a tree lined pedestrian street through the park. There were benches on both side. It reminded me of Central Park in New York. It was a good walk…about a mile down and a mile back. Of course that depended on the path you picked!!
Chrissy wanted to go to Notting Hill because there was a big street fair today and
it was supposed to have lots of antiques. so the three of us headed out for Notting Hill. It was crazy busy! We first walked up the hill and looked at the shops bought a couple things, and then headed down the hill. There were all kinds of vendor set up in tents, plus all kinds of food items, but it was crazy crowded. Once I linked up with Chrissy we contacted Jennifer and she decided to stay where she was and wait for us to get back to her. Smart move!
The most fun thing at Notting Hill Street Fair was a jazz trio they were pretty good and what a crowd pleaser!!
Once we left Notting Hill, we headed to Buckingham Palace. Jennifer had never bern there. Our cab driver drop us off so we can walk down to Buckingham Palace. They are starting to prepare for Charles coronation, but it wasn’t so busy you couldn’t get close to the gates and see the guards.
Once we left there, we headed near Covent gardens and Pick and Cheese. This is a restaurant where cheese is paired with another item depending on its type. It’s then
placed on a conveyor belt with a Number that corresponds to a sheet that tells you what cheese and what item are paired together. You said it stools and select the cheese plate you want to try. You keep track of the plates you select and when you’re finished you pay. It’s a pretty awesome process. It’s just fun to watch the cheese selections go around on the conveyor belt!
We finally hailed a cab and headed back to the Balmoral house. Corey would be returning from the Star Wars convention and we figured we’d get something to eat. Chrissy has been sick with a bad bad cold this whole trip. However, she’s been a real trooper. But tonight it all caught up with her and she didn’t want to go out to dinner. She thought soup would be the ticket to make her feel better. Corey and Jennifer wanted Ramen which to tell the truth I have never had in my life. So we walked to Ramen place, ate, and brought back chicken Ramen for Chrissy. It’s Hard to believe another day is done.
