Woolly says – Having settled into our new accommodation and ensured that the women are working hard in their new jobs I left the task of their supervision to others and decided to investigate our new surroundings. Plassey Holiday Park is set in over two hundred acres of rolling fields a few miles from the city of Wrexham. Given the distance my short paws needed to cover I debated climbing aboard one of the many golf buggy’s that the site has until I caught the eye of one of the one duty wardens and decided that I might find myself in deep water, a nearby tractor didn’t appear to want to go anywhere and as I was contemplating ‘borrowing’ a handy child’s bike Jo caught up with me, is there never any peace for me! Ch Ch CH Changes . I found myself singing or at least humming to the song Changes by David Bowie and realised that changes are very much a part of motorhoming life. You soon learn to live with them, accept them for what they are and park them and move on . With the weather forecast to be excellent today we decided that we really should do something, rather than just sit around under Kath's feet all day!! Albert was off to play golf and we decided that we would visit the National Trust property, Erddig, just over the Welsh border at Wrexham. It only took us about an hour to drive down to Wrexham on the motorway and we were there not long after opening time at 11.00am. Erddig is considered to be one of Britain's finest historic houses and it provides a unique insight into the upstairs downstairs aspects of a British country home. The York family enjoyed an excellent relationship with their staff and there is an extensive collection of portraits and photographs of the hired help that the family commissioned. One of the Yorks ... read more

We arrived in Edinburgh to the warmest of welcomes by my Mum who has been spending the last five months in Scotland. She has been working and living in Kelso, a small town about two hours south of Edinburgh in a district known as “The Borders” given it's proximity to England. This was the area that was ravaged by the English during the two Wars of Independence (and various other times I'm sure) and remnants of destroyed castles and abbeys are scattered about the countryside. Soon we were on our way to Ruabon in North Wales to meet some of the extended family consisting of Aunt Sybil, her two daughters Joanne and Penelope, their respective husbands Keith and Arwel, and their lovely kids. As luck would have it the kids, aged 6 - 10 made perfect ... read more
