The photo shows the brightness of Our day as we leave Twr Y Felin
Tuesday 1 August 2023, day 15 on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path - from White sands Beach to Trefin

Alltrails app. 6 hours 1 minute walking. 11.85 miles. 1588 feet elevation gain.

Garmin forerunner 25. 6 hours 1 minute walking. 11.9 miles. 1559 feet elevation gain.

We had our last breakfast at Twr-y-Feline Hotel and paid our bill for dinner and massage. Deb took a photo of our departure just as Frank of Frank's Taxi arrived. The day was sunny bright and moderate winds.

It was about 0910 when we started along the path. Today was a longer distance and had more climbing than any prior days walk. To add to the difficulty the signage was not good. And, this problem was further compounded by several direction indicators for the trail being broken off or the entire post removed so there was no idea which way it should have pointed. Out here I have no sense of direction. I rely totally on the navigation feature of the app for which way is north and what direction the trail goes. The app beeps my phone when I stray to far from the path.

We could look back at

Our reliable taxi transfer, Frank's Taxi in St David's
the beach with the white caps as we climbed to the coastal cliffs. St Davids head extends into the sea. Many volcanic rocks that filled the fissures in the older slate rock form bays between the fingers of rock.

There are some iron age forts and stone circles that we pass. At the beach at Abereiddy the car park is full. The old slate quarry mined from the 1840s is now open to the sea and is a pool used for diving and swimming and forms a small harbor.

We find a grassy spot for a quick sandwich and brief rest then press on. I had arranged for our next taxi pick up by Tony s taxi at 1500. At Porthgain there was a bistro. I wanted a bottle of water. A person in front of me was having an overpayment issue. What I had hoped would be less than five minutes break become 15. We would not make our 1500 scheduled pickup. I called and pushed the time back to 1530.

The path was much better this last 2 miles, so I, being last, walked to Tony's Taxi at the Ships inn at 1528. The other

three were there when Tony arrived 4 minutes earlier. Tony was very appreciative of my call.

We are now at the Ferryboat Inn BNB. A big letdown from our past six nights in 5 star hotels. But we shall make it thru the next three nights before moving on again.

We walked about 3/4 mile more to Rose and Crown restaurant for our dinner. One of the few places where we could order at the table and not have to go up to the bar. Hopefully we will return.
