Friday 24th July Another day in hog heaven riding railways We have two nights here in Prestatyn so we can look around the area with two main attractions close by being The Snowden Mountain railway and Caernarfon Castle. The weather forecast was still a bit iffy for riding trains up mountainsides but we decided we should do it no matter what as it was probably going to be an activity that took 2 or 3 hours. Looking outside as we finished breakfast the weather was fine with a high overcast and so we set off the A55 for Llanberis at the foot of Mount Snowden. We were fortunate to arrive at a time when there were still seats available on the trains that left every half hour and managed to get seats on the 12.30pm.The ride ... read more

When we first decided to travel the world one of the things we knew we would want to do was scuba. Lisa has done this before when she was younger however I was new to it all. It all began with a try dive Lisa bought me for Xmas which was in a rather warm swimming pool in chester, we were both hooked. The next day we signed up to a 6 week course which involved class lessons and practicals....oh and HOMEWORK!! The weeks just flew by with us conquering all the tasks put in front of us and with me scoring 100% in all exams, lisa also claims she did but i know better. There was also a great gang of other would be divers on our course all wanting to learn for different ... read more

Gweiddi!! Thats welsh for Hello. Well, the long weekend has just finished and we ended up touring the beautiful countryside of wales. I know I'd mentioned spain, but word is, the airports are still crazy over here with flights delayed for hours and still no hand luggage, so we thought best not to fly over the long weekend. So, we ended up hiring a car and driving to Wales, and what a fantastic decision that was! First of all, I thought I'd do a bit of research on friday and asked all the brits that I work with what I could expect from Wales. Their reply was 'huh, where? wales, um, dont know, never been there.' Bearing in mind they think that New Zealand is somewhere in Australia, I've now realised there's no point asking! hahaha. ... read more

Time has flown and we are now back in London and realised that we haven't made an entry for almost 3 weeks! So, the weather in Wales improved hugely during our second week, hot and sunny most days. The mountains look so different in good weather and we discovered some lovely beaches and lakes to swim in. We decided that we needed a break from walking to do something else, there are hundreds of different leaflets about things to do in the area and we settled on one called Ropeworks (Terry wasn't too keen but I managed to guilt him into it!) Basically it is an asault course on ropes and logs 50 foot in the air, It was a scream! Terry loved it once he got going and in the end I was much more ... read more

Weather so far.....10 days - 1 sunny - 9 naff! Well Wales can officially be described as wet! We hoped to be walking every day in our bid to get fit, this has been hampered a bit by the weather (shame eh!) Although we have managed to brave the elements to take on the 34 footsteps from the caravan door to the pub bar! We are staying in a caravan (tin tent) outside a pub called the Snowdon Inn just outside Llanberis. For company we have a menagerie consiting of *2 dogs (Shiloh and Sasha) *2 cats (Bella and Fluff) and 3 kittens (4 weeks old) *4 chickens *6 ducks and 27 ducklings plus a heap of eggs waiting to hatch! *1 ghost (!) The pub is said to be haunted by the ghost of someone ... read more
