Another superb day with the birds, but we are not becoming twitchers! Handa Island is a wildlife reserve managed by the Scottish Wildlife Trust with one of the largest populations of nesting seabirds in Western Europe. To get there we drove about 20 miles south through wild country dotted with lochs and a backdrop of impressive mountains to the tiny settlement of Tarbet, where we were shuttled to the island by inflatable boat. There is a 6km path around the Island which enabled us to enjoy the place to the full.

We stayed at the nearby village of Scourie and had a pleasant evening chatting to Alan and Ruth, other Murvi owners we met.
