04 June 2017 Today we took a boat trip to the small uninhabited island of off the east coast of Shetland. Mousa is managed by the RSPB and is famous for its many storm petrels which nest in the stones on its beaches. As it’s a nocturnal bird we didn’t see any. But there were plenty of other birds to interest us as we walked around the two mile path.
There is also the best preserved example of a broch, the round houses built about 2000 years ago which are found all over Scotland.
For our last night on Shetland we stayed at the marina campsite in the village of Cunningsburgh.
