May Bank Holiday and a(nother!) long weekend off work for Daddy. We'd planned to go to Orkney but once again the weather across the North of Scotland was looking pretty grim, so rather than endure a drizzly time in the van we decided to head across to Daddy's islands instead, catch up with the cousins and spend some time with Nana & Grandpa.

And good job we did - the weather there was glorious - look at the photos! Barbecues on the beach, sunscreen, and not a midgie in sight - perfect!

From there we headed to south to stay with Bugsy and AuntyM in Benbecula (pop. 300, "there's more people than that in my office!" - AuntyR) before they sell up and head to the bright lights of Inversneckie (hooray)!

We took a quick drive round the beautiful Uists, vowing to come back for a longer tour, the machair (grasslands along the back of the beaches) there is just perfect for a bit of wild campervanning!
