I have never been more disoriented over such a long period of time in my life! When I got to London on the 11th, I set my cell phone 1 hour fast and 1 day early. The first hostel I checked into gave me a coupon for a free beer from 7 - 7:30 at the bar. Well I was finishing up dinner at Leicester Sq and looked at my cell phone to find 19:05 (it only displays military time which adds another dimension to my confusion). I quickly pay, run to the tube, and get off at my stop about 19:15 ACPT (Alex Cell Phone Time). Thinking I’m going to make it, I start briskly walking back to find I’m lost and need to console the map. Finally I get there at 19:32 ACPT panting ... read more

The plane had about 30 passengers and about 130 seats, so, after the meal, Willy took the whole of the central row (4 seats) and lifted ... read more

Scotland fall to in-form Tigers World Cup warm-up, Barbados: Bangladesh 156-3 beat Scotland 152-9 by seven wickets Match scorecard Gavin Hamilton was surprised to see a ball scuttle on to bowl him Scotland suffered a second hefty World Cup warm-up defeat at the 3Ws Oval in Barbados after losing their way against Bangladesh's impressive spin attack. Scotland mustered only 152-9 and were powerless to stop Tigers captain Habibul Bashar (57 not out) helping his team to a second win in the week. Bangladesh had more than 15 overs and seven wickets to spare at the end. Scotland's batsmen squandered a strong start, which saw them safely reach 73-2 after 23 overs as they batted first. Little went right for them thereafter, as Abdur Razzak (3-25) and his fellow slow left-armers Mohammad Rafique and Saqibul Hasan put ... read more

Beaten Scots vow to bounce back All-rounder Dougie Brown tries to field off his own bowling against Sri Lanka Scotland skipper Craig Wright backed his side to emerge stronger from the experience of losing to Sri Lanka in their opening World Cup warm-up game. The Scots lost by 159 runs after being bowled out for just 135. But Wright said: "You can't go out there and play against Muralitharan or Vaas and expect to succeed if you haven't faced them before.
