So, after waving our cottage goodbye, we headed off on the last leg of our great Scottish roadtrip - up to Inverness to see Loch Ness and hopefully the monster...well...we hoped. The morning that we left the cottage we got to see our first smattering of snow. Aaron had bought some fake stuff on Christmas eve, and Bridie wandering aimlessly around the garden realised that the white flakes on the ground weren't fake! It was real snow, and it made our day. Ho, Ho, Ho & a Merry Christmas to all!! I hope your Christmas was as good as mine. I started work in the Duck at 7 on Chrissy eve and it is dead as for an hour or 2 (so we, me, Dougy & loura had a few sneaky voddies to try and kick the hang over) then it all starts happening. People start flockin in, then the band starts at 10 ( bloody load, v hard to here what people want) then the next thing I know it’s Christmas. But no rest for us, flat out for a few hours then we kick everyone out and the mission of cleanin up. That first Guinness (pictured) was bloody tasty & a chance to sit down. What do u call this!? Ice in my whisky, r u mad! Working in the local pub in Conon Bridge (The Duck) u quickly learn how the locals take their whisky. I worked a couple of shifts a week in the duck as well as working full time in oddbins a wine a whisky shop (bottleo) in Inverness. We had some expensive shit too, £300 bottles of whisky, £50 bottles of wine & £100 bottles of champers. Even though I’ve been working heaps I’ve been lucky to do heaps of other stuff too. Another drum all round? Yer why not, a pint in 1 hand & only just finishing the last drum (Straight whiskey or with a bit of H2O) First night in! at the Duck (the local pub), me n dad with sandy & a few of his mates, steaming drunk & poor old douglas havin to serve us drinks all night. The bus got into Inverness & sandy picked us up and took us to his house. Marilyn ( sandy's mum) cooked us up a huge feed, then off to the pub. Then for a few days doug & sandy showed us round the area, we went and saw loch ness (Dad got a pic of nessy), an old castle, some H2O falls and a heap of top sceanery.
