Edinburgh
View of the city from the Castle Was in Edinburgh for 2 days so got to slow down a bit. The first day, found a nice hostel - good first experience. Talked with a few really nice guys but the girls in my room were all kind of quiet. Went to the Cathedral for mass and afterward, students from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama played in a trio - beautiful music! I walked up and down the Royal Mile - on one end is the Edinburgh Castle and the other is the Palace of Holyroodhouse where the Queen stays when in Scotland. The Int'l Festival is going on so there were performers, musicians, magicians, and crazy people in the main areas. It was quite fun just watching them.
On the second day, I went into the Castle - amazing views of the entire city! Went to this museum type place called Camera Obscura. Look up what a camera obscura is. It's pretty interesting. They have a wooden table in a dark room and this tube with a mirror that sticks out the roof and you look around the whole city. The rest of the building had crazy pics - holograms, illusions and lots of fun
Arthur's Seat
I only hiked part way up but it's a great place to hike and views of all parts around the city stuff.
Had some stilton nuggets - not sure what stilton is but it's a typical Scottish food and pretty tasty.
I enjoyed Edinburgh more than Dublin and Glasgow - lots of very nice old buildings and great views. Oh, and I hiked up this big mountain/hill called Arthur's seat - gorgeous!!
