First of all my bus ride to Inverness was long and hot, it was 4 hours but the girl behind me with her feet in my back made it longer, and the bus being stuffy and hot made it even longer! Other than that though I loved he bus ride, the scenery up through the highlands was stunning. I could not stop staring out the window, well that was till I fell asleep for a bit. But truly the bus ride was awesome. I got to Inverness and found it to be what I expected a reasonably small town where there isn’t much to do or see, I went to the tourist information to book my tour to the Isle of Skye as that was the only reason I had gone to Inverness (Inverness is the last “major” town/city before the highlands to the North and the Scottish isles to the west). I found that the tour was all booked up for tomorrow, I looked at alternative places to go but in the end decided to cut a day off Glasgow spend an extra day in Inverness and do my tour on Wednesday. I then bought some food and retreated to
my hostel which was conveniently 100m from the bus station 😊. I chilled out and watched the Foxtel equivalent (Sky) and hung out with the guy at the hostel.
Yesterday doesn’t need much of a write up. I slept, watched about 4 documentaries on National Geographic, posted some books back home and back to the hostel where I met some Canadians and Americans. That night I hung out with the hostel guy again and watched Cliffhanger, GO STALONE!
Now today, man oh man! Got up at 8am and prepared for the tour that started at 9.30am, I made the almighty 100m journey to the bus station and hopped on the tour bus. We drove from Inverness to Isle of Skye seeing a whole bunch of stuff along the way, I feel really stupid not remembering any of the places. But hey the pictures speak for themselves and I still was gob-smacked and thought it was incredible! 😄. I know I got to see Loch Ness (not the monster, the river) and also the Eilean Donan Castle. Anyway…I got back from the tour at 8pm, it cost 32GBP (75AUD) and it was worth every cent. I’m still speechless about what I

Wow, never seen moss growth like this at home. saw, to tell you the truth; the pictures don’t do the landscape justice. If you ever go to Scotland make sure you go to the Isle of Skye…DO IT!!
Overall I am so happy I came to Inverness even if it was for longer than I expected. I came and did what I planned to do, which is the main thing 😄. I will definitely be going back to the Isle of Skye one day but I will hire a car and go at my own pace so I can stop and take in everything.
Glasgow tomorrow, not really looking forward it as everybody I have met says it’s a shit hole, good thing I’m only there for 1 night. Who knows, now that I have low expectations it might blow my frikkin mind!?
Josh over and out 😜.
