"It was a cold and blustery Day" Sounds like the start to a Robert Frost Poem or perhaps Winny the Pooh but that was exactly what the day brought me as I finished my tour of the Republic of Ireland and entered Northern Ireland in route from Ballyliffin to Belfast. The temperature was in the 50's so I had to make sure I had enough layers to keep from getting cold. It was basically rain the entire way so not many pictures to show along the way. I went through Derry (London Derry) to the English, which made think of Bill and Jim Derry (friends in the fastener industry) and wondered if they had visited the ... read more

The next morning we woke up to get to Belfast. Before driving to our hotel, we went to the tree street that are in Game of Thrones. After that we drove to our hotel. Then we walked around the city and went out for lunch and souvenir shopping. We then went on a black cab tour which was all about the terrible religious and political problems between the Catholics and the Protestants. It went way back to when Northern Ireland were Protestants while the rest o Ireland was more Catholic, so they needed to divide. There is still a wall dividing the Protestants and the Catholics. After the tour we went to a little plaza for a snack and then went to our hotel. The next day was Fathers' Day, so we went out to a ... read more

The next morning we took a 5 hour drive to Ballycastle. Once we got there we checked into the hotel and then started walking around the small town. We went to this playground since, you know, we did not have anything else to do. We wen on the seesaw where my dad fell off which was fun. We then went out for a good dinner and then back to the hotel. The next morning we woke up early to start our hiking trip. Our first stop was this small castle which we first had to hike up and down which was fun. After that we went to this rope bridge. We had to walk until we go to the bridge then we go on the main rock island mountain thing which had a great view. Next ... read more
