Their couldn't have been a better timing for Ireland as far as I'm concerned, it was summer which means it's as sunny as it'll get and peak tourist season which meant a full bus load of like-minded travellers from around the world, of course the majority of them Ozzy! This was probably the best situation for me to jump on the 10 day paddywagon green monster tour bus, having lost Malka, this forced me back in the swing of it all. We became a great little family in a short time, it was a wonderful feeling! We left Dublin and headed straight for the border to Northern Ireland and the city of Derry!! This was a great place to start our tour and introduction to the still current situation in Northern Ireland. We went on a ... read more

Top of the morning, to be sure! We're in Belfast, so Audrey & I wandered round the city centre & found a music shop - I've found a new trio by Klengel, so we'll try it out in the morning. I think Audrey is going to tell you all about our little bit of Irish luck today, it was so funny & we can't stop giggling! You never know how your day is going to turn out on a cruise. We keep losing things on this cruise. First of all Audrey lost her cabin key, then her card (used to get on & off the ship & to pay for drinks); I've lost music (see last night's blog) & Jonathan has lost a pair of pants, probably his Calvin Klein's...I think the leprachauns are playing games ... read more

Cousin Veronica says that when you step onto Irish soil you must make a wish. With that duly done we set off on a magical trip around Donegal. Our first stop was St. Johns point, just outside Killybegs. We came across a beautiful sandy beach. Our stay there involved paddling, (me, Lynne,) playing the penny whistle,(Lynne) and Irish dancing on the beach.(Veronica). I held the video camera for the last two activities, so friends, stand by for some entertainment. Visited a traditional weaver in her cottage. The weaves had wonderful heathery colours. Sadly she had no facility to be paid with plastic so we left empty handed. ( I have her website - hee hee!) We then took a speedy trip to Donegal town -(Veronica calculated it was lunchtime for the garda.) The town is ... read more

Arrived safely finally. Was an extreely long flight but luckily had a lovely Aussie bloke from Boorowa on his way back to Africa for work. He actually knows the SO at Boorowa pretty well - small world. Then on the flight to Belfast talked with a lovely bloke from Johanessburg, Jacqui, and he gave me some jewellery that he had made himself. We were met at Belfast Airport by Harry's family. The weather was exactly like being back at Bombala - I wasn't expecting anything different. The countyside is very green.... read more

Sligo or Sleagch home to W.B. Yeats, where the Atlantic washes onto beautiful beaches, Hidden Castles teetering on sparkling Loughs, Great Seafood, interesting Seafaring history still being made today and much much more. We were so glad we took up Margaret and Dave’s invitation to join them on the West Coast of Ireland at Rosses Point. We managed to catch a bus over, it took about four hours as the bus detoured into a lot of little villages on the way. The driver was a bit of a cowboy, accelerating around hairy bends. Even though it was an express bus like a Greyhound, lots of locals were hopping off and on at little villages as it appeared their regular bus driver decided to take a day off and by the chat and banter it was a ... read more
