As we had been told that our nephew, Bryn, had started walking and running, and making voices, we really looked forward to seeing him. All of the ornaments on the mantelpiece and lower shelves and my grandfather’s carvings had been put away. There were some changes of locations of coffee table and other furniture. Bryn and his parents arrived at Lark Rise late evening on 4th November. It was dull and wet in the morning on 5th November. John looked at the weather forecast, and we heard that the rain would be cleared away by midday around East Anglia. We decided to go to Ickworth Park from the midday. There is a huge National Trust property called Ickworth in Horringer, outskirts of Bury St Edmunds. There are several attractions in the property e.g. 18th century manor house, Italian Garden, woodland walks, and Country Park. The East Wing of the manor house was used as the Harvey family’s holiday accommodation for a long time; however, the 7th Earl of Bristol has recently left Ickworth due to the financial problems. The East Wing Building has been converted to the upper class hotel which has been used by the celebrities or the wealthy people. Ickworth Manor House standing on the centre of the property was designed by the 4th Earl of Bristol who copied the design from the building that he had seen In Ireland.
