So where in the world has Silly Sat Nag taken us? We set her up with correct co-ordinates for Acton Burnell Castle and began the drive . The journey started off reasonably well as we drove along decent roads and through small villages and hamlets. We saw the signs for Wigwig . It made us smile . Apparently it is a hamlet situated in the area of natural beauty and scientific interest that is based around the Much Wenlock area. Did not smile so much when she started to take us off the main roads onto very narrow and muddy lanes . With few passing places we hoped not to meet anything coming in the opposite direction . This time last year I had refused to purchase a Wisdom of the East calendar which had doubled in price probably due to the Covid pandemic . Well everything seems these days to be blamed on Brexit or the pandemic so why not my special calendar . At first I missed ripping off the pages every day. It was one of those morning rituals like cleaning your teeth where I wondered if the thought would be simple or complicated , thought provoking and worth keeping in order to incorporate them into my blog ramblings, Or would it be discounted and discarded as some proved to be tooo philosophical. Mark had remembered visiting Much Wenlock with his parents, and told me that Much Wenlock is a typical English Town. We took the bus No. 432 for Brigenorth from Abbey Foregate. We got off at Queen Street, and walked down to the main street. Mark printed the tour map that covers all of the historical attractions on the Internet. We walked past an old farmhouse, police station, and charming timber-framed houses, and the former railway station, which has been converted to the private house. We then started the lime tree avenue walk, along with the dismantled railway route.
