We went to York on Sunday. York is an interesting place with lots of history from different time periods - Roman, Saxon, Viking, Medieval etc. We spent most of the day walking around town, including walking around the wall that goes around the old part of the city. We also went into York Minster (Cathedral). We went down into the basement area, where you can see the remains of earlier buildings on the same site, including a Roman garrison building. - Matt

This is York Castle - not really a castle, just the one building that remains of the original castle.

I am not sure what this building is - but I liked the look of it.
