40 days and 40 nights . Suzy is feeling somewhat Biblical parked up on the drive in an unseasonal British summer. It’s been a long time coming, the office feels like a cross between a greenhouse and a sauna, the plants in the garden are wilting , the strawberries and raspberries ripening. The grass is the colour of ripe yellow corn and Suzy is like an oven. Even with her windows wide open, her mesh blinds down in an attempt to keep the sun out and her silver screen fixed the heat is overbearing. Why is it that an English summer usually shortlived is extremely hot and sultry at times and feels muggy to the extreme?.
