Salisbury Cathedral I was up early today for our day tour to the English countryside. This was something I had really wanted to do the last time I was in London, but I had never gotten around to it. Stonehenge just seemed like one of those "must-sees". The tour company we went with was Evans Evans, and I don't have anything bad to say about them. The tour wasn't exceptional, but it got us where we needed to go, and our tour guide was funny and gave us lots of information. I think it's best to go with a tour to Stonehenge, since it's quite a drive from London, and it is nice to get out of the city and see something different while you are here.
I was supposed to meet everyone in the lobby, but I guess I was there early, because I was waiting a really long time. Or maybe everyone else was late! :P It turns out the bus was also late, and the traffic was terrible. We almost missed our tour bus because it took so long to get to the bus station. The tour guide we had was very outgoing, and he spent most of the

Stonehenge day making jokes, some of which were amusing. Our first stop was Salisbury, where we saw the amazing cathedral there. It was the first church I saw, and it definitely would not be the last. The architecture was incredible, but it would have been better if half the building wasn't covered in scaffolding. Salisbury Cathedral actually has the tallest church spire in the United Kingdom (404 feet). Inside was some beautiful stained glass windows. We also got to see the best surviving copy of the original Magna Carta.
Our next stop was Stonehenge. It had been sunny in Salisbury, but at Stonehenge it was a bit overcast. Once we actually got out into the field where the rocks were, the wind started blowing like crazy. It was so terrible I couldn't even enjoy where I was! Yeah, I guess I complain a lot :P Bring a warm jacket when you go here! We got lots of photos, and now I can finally say I've seen Stonehenge in person. Apparently the rocks appeared there between 3000 BC and 2000 BC, and there are many different theories as to have that happened. Guess we will never know! P.S. I don't think

Bath it was aliens.
Our last stop on the tour was the city of Bath. I hadn't really thought of it before, but it turned out to be my favourite stop of the day! It was such a cute little town, and the buildings, and the atmosphere were all really amazing. We started out at the Bath Museum, where we learned all about the original baths, and we got to see the murky green water. Yummm. After the museum we walked around the town, and did some shopping. It was a really long day. Once back at the hotel, I decided to take the night off again. I wanted to be back in perfect health by the time the tour started. Yeah, I'm boring ok! 😊
What did I learn today? Big rocks really
aren't that interesting.
