Teresa, Jason, and I at lunch I slept in this morning, I was so tired. I think I was starting to get sick already. I took it easy before lunch, and just watched TV and relaxed. At noon I took the tube to Picadilly Circus to meet Jason and Teresa for lunch. Yep, you guessed it, we ended up at an Italian restaurant. Luckily Italian food is my favourite. I had an enormous, delicious pizza. The restaurant was called Franco's Ristorante Pizzeria, and it was quite nice, I recommend it!
A note about taking the tube in London. It's really great, so easy to use, and convenient to get everywhere you need to go. I bought an Oyster Card (reloadable card) before I left home, thinking that would be a great way to save money. It does give you a discount price on each tube ride, and saves you having to buy a ticket every time you go on it. However, I used it so much I kept having to reload it every day and I think I ended up spending about 50 pounds. You can get a 7-Day Travelcard (benefits to you depend on how long you are staying in London of course), which I

Tower of London believe is much cheaper. You can visit http://www.tfl.gov.uk/ for more details. 😊 Sometimes squeezing through the turnstiles behind other people works too! :P
After lunch we headed over to the Tower of London, a historic castle on the banks of the Thames River. I had pre-bought my ticket before I left home, so I wouldn't have to wait in a big line. It was such a beautiful day today, there wasn't a cloud in the sky! We spent about an hour inside the Tower. The Tower is really a complex of several buildings within two rings of defensive walls. It was actually really cool, there were old buildings, weapons, statues, and fake knights. We even saw some of the famous ravens that are so special to the Tower. It is also here where they keep the Crown jewels, which are an interesting sight. After our time here, we walked along the Tower Bridge. There was an exhibit going on, so we bought tickets to go to the very top and inside the columns of the bridge. The views were awesome from the top. Back at the bottom, we were lucky enough to be able to watch them raise the

Me in front of the Tower Bridge bridge to let a cruise ship through. Apparently it is a rare event for tourists to see, so that was a cool experience.
At this point my feet were starting to hurt SO bad in my shoes. I hadn't brought any walking shoes (because I don't own any), and my feet were starting to hate me for it. We went back to the hotel, where we met up with our tour mates from the other night, and we all booked a day trip to Salisbury, Stonehenge, and Bath. We were able to book it all through the Contiki Basement, so it was really easy. While me, Teresa, and Jason were waiting at the Basement, we met anothe rone of our tour mates, Ben (from Australia), who had just arrived. There were a few others around, but we hadn't crossed paths yet. Everyone else decided to go out for dinner again tonight, but I really wasn't feeling well so I decided to go straight to bed.
What did I learn today? If you are this homesick after only four days, you spend too much time at home! haha
